About Us

The Twisted L Ranch has been in the business of raising top quality Quarter (AQHA) and Paint (APHA) horses for over 25 years. Our mission has always been to raise high quality cow horses with emphasis on intelligence, conformation, desire and heart. Raising competitive cutting horses is our main focus but we are pleased to say that Twisted L horses have also won in many other events.

For over 20 years we have been working to get many of our AQHA horses with the required white markings double registered as APHA paint horses. As a result of this work, all of our current APHA registered horses are also double registered AQHA/APHA.

For example, we have owned and promoted horses like: Gay O Lena, an AQHA/APHA sorrel overo son of Doc O’Lena that has over 850 APHA performance points in 7 different cattle events; Smart Lil Paradign, an AQHA/APHA sorrel overo son of Smart Little Lena, that has produced over 160 foals used for all types of performance; Taris Peppy Playboy, a sorrel overo son of Freckles Playboy out of a daughter of Little Peppy, that has produced an APHA World Champion cutter, numerous roping horse earners and working ranch horses and; and we are now offering Rusty Blue Metallic, a Blue Roan Overo son of Metallic Cat.

Last year we received the AQHA 20 Year Breeder Award.

We are also committed to supporting the adoption of wild mustangs.

We also raise pure bred Brahman and F1 Brahman x Hereford beef cattle for replacement bulls and heifers. The younger cattle are also used to train our young horses and keep our older horses tuned up.
